The Little Man is here...3 WEEKS EARLY!!

Carrie woke up Thursday, June 1 with a headache and a high blood pressure reading. The high blood pressure reading had happened before, and was not anything to worry about, but thankfully, Carrie went to the Dr. that morning anyway. Her Doc., Dr. Lawhon, was off that day, so the dr. she did see told her to go to the hospital to get checked out further. When she called and told me that i had better bring a change of clothes, and something to read, my mind went out of control! She had just had her Calvary church Shower (pics later, maybe) on Tuesday, and our house was FILLED with gift bags from the 5 showers we have been given. "I still have 3 weeks!!!" I probably said this out loud 100 times and in my head 100 times that to Mrs. Bell, Cindy, Chad, and whoever else would listen!! Ethan Shepherd had other plans. The staff at Baptist East (great group) decided that Carrie was far enough along to induce labor! I was a little apprehensive, simply because Dr. Lawhon wasn't there. Guess what? He came anyway, on his day off. Christy was off Thursday night, too, and was worn out from working the night before, but she came to the hospital to assist and to help calm Carrie. She got in touch with Dr. Lawhon, who came to the hospital directly. I cannot tell you how important it was to Carrie that Christy and Dr. Lawhon were there! 11:09 PM, after only 28 minutes of pushing, there he was. I have said before that all babies look the same. I lied. Ethan is the best lookin' kid around!
